We are seeking multiple IC Design Engineers for an Austin based Fabless Semiconductor Company.
Primary responsibility will be to lead the design of integrated power stages for high frequency class-D audio power amplifiers. An in-depth understanding of power IC fabrication processes and the impact of specific power stage operational parameters on overall class-D amplifier performance (such as SNR, THD+N, efficiency) is required.
Important skills for success in this position include:
1. Proven experience in the design of CMOS/DMOS power stages for MHz
rate class-D audio amplifiers
2. In depth understanding of Class-D modulation techniques, both analog
and digital.
3. An extensive background in power system modeling using tools such as
MATLAB/Simulink SimPowerSystems or an equivalent tool.
4. Prior background in mixed-signal and analog IC design with extensive
knowledge of chip level circuit simulation tools (HSpice, Spectre etc.)
5. Excellent technical problem solving skills with a creative flair for
innovation.
6. Hands-on lab experience assisting with chip bring-up and debug.
7. Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Education/Experience:
An MSEE plus 5+ years experience at a mixed-signal semiconductor company involved in power IC designs for digital audio product development is desired. Candidates who possess a BSEE, but have 10+ years experience in power IC design, will also be considered for this position.
