Professional Overview
Pete joined Vaco in 2007 and serves as the Office Managing Partner for Charlotte. While he leads the office, he is functionally involved in the day-to-day operations of all lines of business with a focus on client delivery.
Pete is a CPA with over 15 years of public accounting and consulting experience. He started his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen, LLP in the Charlotte office. In 2002, Pete left Arthur Andersen and joined Grant Thornton, LLP as a senior manager. During his career with Grant Thornton, he spent time in both the Carolinas and the South Florida markets. He has experience with both public and private companies ranging in activities from public offerings, SOX implementations, financial statement audits, operational audits, risk assessments, M&A strategy, due diligence and post-merger integration.
After leaving public accounting, Pete worked with a group of investors in the Charlotte market to raise over $20 million and founded blueharbor bank. While a founder at the bank, Pete spent time as the Chief Financial Officer and was responsible for several roles including finance, accounting, technology, capital raising activities, regulatory compliance and marketing.

Pete is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Community Involvement
Pete is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and the Finance Committee of the Lake Norman YMCA in Charlotte. Pete also Serves on the Finance Committee at St. Alban's Church in Davidson. In addition, he is a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Our Towns Habitat for Humanity.
