General Purpose of the Job:
This position reports to the Assistant Controller and has primary responsibility for the accounting, recording, and reporting of all Contract Accounting jobs. This includes, but is not limited to, activities related to production costs, costs of sales, inventory valuation, periodic reporting comparing standard costs to actual production costs, product margin reporting and analytics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain Cost Summary Report for each contract.
- Update monthly information, analyzing and verifying for accuracy and completeness
- Obtain estimates and budget adjustments to jobs.
- Review program manager inputs.
- Conduct gross margin analysis.
- Create journal entries on a monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly results reports for review by management and participate in monthly program reviews.
- Assist in preparing monthly forecasts, quarterly results presentations, and annual business plan.
- Complete special projects as assigned by management
Requirements:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Degree in Business administration Minor in Accounting (Accredited Program)
- Government Accounting a must.
- Public accounting experience preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong in Financial & Cost accounting
- Strong in Standard Cost & job cost inventory valuations methods
- Sound understanding of inventory valuation
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze financial data and generate financial reports & statements

- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
