Bio

Gassia joined Vaco in early 2006 and is currently working in a sales role to grow the Memphis market. She provides clients with senior-level information technology professionals on a project and consulting basis, as well as direct hire.

Gassia started her recruiting career in 2001 with a Fortune 500 company where she spent five years and was the top producer three years in a row in the Memphis market. She has continued that level of performance at Vaco and is consistently ranked in the Top 10 producers for Technology. Gassia attributes her success to her unrelenting commitment to customer service. "I am obsessed with providing the best level of customer service to our clients, consultants, and candidates. I am convinced that our success as an organization and as individual producers is due primarily to our commitment to customer service at every level."

It didn’t take long for Vaco to ask Gassia to join their team. When asked why she decided on Vaco as opposed to the multitude of offers she had from other companies she replies, “First and foremost, I am surrounded by incredibly bright and talented folks that I respect greatly and look forward to working with every day. My colleagues’ industry backgrounds coupled with their performance record was very impressive to me.  Also, the culture of Vaco was conducive to my style.  They hire only top producers, so everyone is self-managed. Managing my own success and performance is what I need to flourish. In her free time, Gassia enjoys participating in endurance sports with her partners at Vaco.  She has completed 4 marathons and numerous half marathons, and she has been instrumental in challenging and mentoring her co-workers to participate in competitive running and cycling.  Because of this, many at Vaco have completed several half-marathons including the sponsorship of Team Vaco where Vaco employees, clients and consultants ran for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memphis Marathon in 2006 and 2008.

Gassia holds a BA and MA from California State University Fresno and a PhD from the University of Virginia.
