Bio

Joe is a CPA and CISA with more than 11 years of public accounting and consulting experience.  He describes his role at Vaco by stating, “I help companies identify problem areas in their finance and accounting functions and source the right consultants to get them beyond their pain.”  Joe uses his public accounting background to identify specific project requirements and matches those requirements with a Vaco consultant’s skills. 

Joe has a broad industry background with a prevalence in transportation, manufacturing, financial services, retail, hospitality and gaming.  At Vaco, Joe works with all areas of finance and accounting consulting with a specialization in projects sponsored by the CFO’s office.

Joe came to Vaco in 2008 seeking a change.  His background as a consultant with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte was ideal for his role at Vaco and fit Joe’s expectations for his next career move.  "I wanted the opportunity to continue helping my clients with a firm that is easy to do business with- one that is entrepreneurial and flexible in their approach.  I am able to provide a solution in a much timelier manner and at a fraction of the cost with similar levels of expertise.  The ability to decide what’s right for me professionally and to do what’s best for my clients is what I enjoy about working at Vaco."

Joe is a native Memphian with deep roots in the community.  He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee and returned to Memphis for his graduate studies in Accounting Systems from the University of Memphis.  He is active in the community and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Emerge Memphis.  He is also a supporter of the Blue Streak Club, Mid-South Junior Golf/The First Tee of Memphis, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association.  Professional organizations include TSCPA, IIA, ISACA and AICPA.
