Bio

"I search the Memphis market for talented accounting and finance professionals to fill unique and challenging positions available in the city.  I also network with passive candidates to stay connected with the decision makers in Memphis."  Sha brings a personal touch to her job at Vaco by giving honest feedback on the market and the candidate's skills.  "I feel it is important to the candidate to know what the outlook is.  I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment when you place somebody in that perfect job and they are so excited about the opportunity.  I also love being able to connect with people and follow them throughout their career."  Sha specializes in working with accounting and finance professionals ranging from staff accountants to CFOs. This includes identifying opportunities for consultants for special projects and candidates for permanent roles.

This merges nicely with Sha's industry background as an auditor in the Memphis practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).  "Having sat in the seat of a Big 4 auditor, I feel like I have experienced the day to day work that most of my candidates have performed.  I have also been in the position of a passive candidate and appreciate the selectiveness and confidentiality my candidates are looking for."  She later transitioned into the role of campus recruiter for PwC and identified top students at universities in the Mid-South area for full-time and intern roles in PwC offices across the country. Sha was also part of a national recruiting team that contributed to PwC's being voted the #1 public accounting firm by students on campuses nationwide for five consecutive years.  It is this background that makes her successful at Vaco.

Sha has not only been busy putting people to work but also serving as an integral part of the reactivation of the Memphis chapter of American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA).  " I love looking out across an ASWA meeting and seeing the people I know from all walks of life and being able to connect them together.  I am very passionate about facilitating a network of professionals.  This demonstrates the freedom we have at Vaco.  When we have ideas like helping to reactivate ASWA, we get support.  They allowed me to run with the idea I had which has blossomed into a chapter that is 60 strong and growing like crazy."

Sha doesn't have a lot of free time.  She is currently serving as the Advisory Team Chairman for Ole Miss' Delta Gamma chapter and is also involved with Leadership DeSoto and Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County.  "I am a ‘soccer widow’ and enjoy cheering for my husband's soccer team."  She also supports the business school at Ole Miss by participating in mock interviews for graduating MBA students.  Sha is active in supporting The House of Grace, a shelter for battered women and children, and Dress for Success, an organization which provides interview clothing for "at risk" women seeking employment.
