Bio

Lauren Lanier is a CPA with four years of Big 4 public accounting experience.  She began her accounting career as an auditor in the Nashville office of Deloitte & Touche and specialized in the Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Publishing industries.  While at Deloitte, she served as Chairman of the office’s Nashville Advisory Council.

Lauren is a native of Nashville and moved to Memphis to join Vaco Mid South.  Her initial exposure to Memphis was a 6 month internship at FedEx while a student at UT.  "I was surprised to find that being only three hours from Nashville, Memphis is very different culturally.  I love the pride people take in their cultural roots here and I am excited about experiencing all the sights and sounds Memphis has to offer (including Memphis in May).”

Lauren received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting and her Masters in Accountancy from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.  She was an Ambassador for the university and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Currently, Lauren is an active member of the Memphis chapter of American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). She also serves as a Board member of the Memphis Business Alliance.

Lauren is an avid runner and participated in the 2008 St. Jude half marathon as part of Team Vaco.  She has also completed the Nashville Country Music half marathon and enjoys the monthly 10k and 5k races around town which gives her an opportunity to see Memphis on foot.  "My goal is to run a marathon in the near future."  Lauren loves to travel and has journeyed extensively through Europe and visited China.

When asked what she enjoys about life at Vaco, Lauren says, "I love the people I work with and the entrepreneurial culture at Vaco.  My job is to network so I am making new professional and personal contacts.   I get to maintain my roots in the financial world while meeting the talented professionals of Memphis and those around the country.  It's an incredible feeling when you get to place someone in a job you know they are going to love."
