Prior to joining Vaco Orlando, Heriot Prentice was Director of Standards and Guidance at The Institute of Internal Auditors, or The IIA. He was responsible for The IIA's activities in developing and maintaining the International Professional Practices Framework. Prior to this, he oversaw the Advanced Technology Committee who is responsible for the development of the Global Technology Audit Guides series and the development of the GAIT methodology, Guide to the Assessment of IT General Controls Based on Risk.
Prior to joining The IIA, Heriot was employed at Deloitte as a Senior Manager where he managed the provision of the IT audit and consultancy services to both the public and private sectors. He specialized in data mining to identify savings and potential fraud. He managed the delivery of BS7799\ISO17799 risk assessment methodology.
Heriot is a Member and Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Heriot is also a trained user of EnCase Forensic, the standard in computer investigation and forensics.
