SUMMARY: Help ensure the organization complies with regulatory requirements under consumer and other banking regulations applicable to branch, deposit and loan operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 100% of Time
- Remain aware of changes in regulations and analyze the changes as to the effect on bank branch, deposit or loan operations.
- Disseminates information regarding regulatory changes to management and appropriate bank staff.
- Suggest policy or procedural changes to management that will facilitate the Bank's compliance program and reduce the risk of non-compliance.
- Design, maintain and administer a documented internal compliance monitoring program to include but not limited to: the scope of each review, procedures to be performed, transaction testing, forms review, a frequency schedule, staff responsibilities, management reporting and exception tracking.
- Review and/or assist with the creation or revision of policies and procedures regarding branch, deposit, or loan operations, including new products.
- Assist in the implementation of BankFIRST policies and procedures.
- Assists in the revision, creation and implementation of BankFIRST forms and disclosures.
- Review and or assist with new product assessments.
- Support all areas of the Compliance Department including acting as a back-up for BSA/AML/OFAC job functions.
- Report any exceptions or violations to regulations, laws or bank policies and procedures to the appropriate bank management and suggest corrective measures.
- May be involved in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
- Maintain bank confidentiality as it pertains to all functions of the bank.
- Coordinate compliance audits in conjunction with the BSA Compliance Officer and affected departments.
- Professional and efficient communications with all departments in to promote teamwork and high quality customer service.
- Assist with the management of the BSA & Compliance Committee, including attending and co-chairing meetings.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required or requested.
- All other duties as assigned.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Moderately routine; general policies applied. Some decision making. Skills in research, critical thinking and knowledge of complex regulations are required.
RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP: Influences decisions of a moderate to major nature. Moderate to High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable decisions or maintain good will.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

- REGULAR ATTENDANCE is required.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school degree or GED required.
- 3 - 5 years banking or other financial institution experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Asset Control, and USA PATRIOT Act required.
- Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year accredited college or technical school or equivalent financial institution experience and education required.
- A Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or University in Business Administration, Finance, or Management or experience equivalent to 2- 3 years of Compliance preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, professional journals, government regulations, etc.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to customers, employees and management.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

- Good skills in data processing applications and procedures such as file transfer, queries, file import etc. required.
- Interact professionally with senior management, staff, external auditors, and bank examiners.
