LINUX Systems Administrator

The Sr. LINUX System Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining LINUX Server Hardware and Operating Systems in a multi-platform mission critical environment. This position requires a high level of technical understanding of the technologies to be supported. Under supervision from the Manager of the team, the Senior LINUX System Administrator will participate in departmental projects including the development of project plans, documentation, and performing of project tasks.


Responsibilities



  • - Plan, design, implement, and support complex multi-vendor environments containing mostly Red Hat and some Windows Servers.

  • - Develop and maintain detailed implementation and training documentation

  • - Design, deploy, and audit system security implementations using industry best practices

  • - Develop, implement, and support of automation tools to drive greater efficiencies across all platforms

  • - Eye for development opportunities to help build and support proprietary customer products and solutions

  • - Regular after-hour maintenances and on-call responsibilities

  • - Broad understanding of best practices in deploying, securing, and supporting system services such as:

  • - Xen, Syslog, Tacacs & Radius, tftp/ftp, apache, bind, tls, smtpimaps, sql & postgres databases, backups, automation, reporting, etc

  • - Strong personal and team communication skills

  • - Knowledge and experience with VoIP (Broadsoft Broadworks, MS Lync, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Voice Gateways, SBC's) is a plus


Requirements



  • - 7+ years experience

  • - Expert Linux experience

  • - Broadsoft Broadworks Systems Management a plus

  • - Legacy Solaris 9 experience a plus

  • - SQL experience (mysql & postgres)
