Bio

Dan Davies is managing director of executive search for Vaco Raleigh, LLC where he is responsible for working with CEOs, presidents and directors, assisting them in identifying, evaluating and recruiting C-level executives sales and marketing executives and other senior level executives and managers for their respective organizations.

Dan launched the Triangle’s premier business magazine in 1988 and, for the next 20 years, guided it to become one of the most successful local business magazines in the country.  He also founded several other publications during his time with the publication, including Triangle Real Estate, The Park Guide, Women in the Triangle and the Corporate Relocation Guide.  Prior to its founding, Dan held various management positions with the Gillette, Six Flags and North Hills corporations.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Miami.

In addition to launching a several successful magazines, Dan created two of North Carolina’s most popular networking events for executives: the Business Leaders Breakfast and Breakfast in The Park.  As publisher, he served as host of these events and presented more than 100 of the state’s top CEOs, from a wide variety of industries, as speakers to his business audiences.

An active member of the Triangle community, Dan has served in leadership roles with several local organizations including the board of directors for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, Triangle United Way, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and Raleigh Sales and Marketing Executives, where he also served as president.  Additionally, Dan is a member of the North Carolina Chamber, the North Carolina Technology Association and The National Association of Corporate Directors. He has also dedicated time to leading work groups for the Emerging Issues Institute and served on the Business Committee for Higher Education.  He is a past president of the Fifty Group and currently serves as the executive director of the National Association of Chief Executive Officers.

A native of Elyria, Ohio, Dan resides in Raleigh with his wife, Pat.
