Bio

Troy Knight is Managing Director of the Design & Gaming division at Vaco Raleigh, LLC, where he is responsible for building a national division within Vaco. The Design & Gaming division specializes in serving the consultant needs of clients, both existing and prospective, in the United States and internationally, in the design, gaming, media, training and development, and eLearning professions. Troy focuses on business development, professional services and recruiting.

Troy has more than 16 years of experience in Design, Gaming, Learning and Media industries with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture. Troy has served as a lead Application Engineer, Senior Project Manager/Production Manager, Head of Project Management and Director of Global Production. From 2001 to 2008 he was President of his own firm, Bluemoon Design, Inc., where he managed, developed and designed interactive media, computer renderings and animations, computer based training applications, eLearning, Web site design, corporate identity branding and product design.

After witnessing a knowledge gap in the recruiting profession for helping consult and supply qualified talent to the design, gaming, eLearning and media fields, Troy wrote a business plan to Vaco proposing how he would start up that division. He joined Vaco Raleigh in April 2008 and launched the Vaco Design, Gaming & Learning national division.

He currently holds board positions on the Triangle Gaming Initiative, North Carolina Advanced Learning Technologies Association, American Marketing Association, Contemporary Art Foundation and on the Wake County steering committee as the gaming industry chair. As an advocate with in the gaming and immersive learning industries, Troy was co-founder of the East Coast Game Conference  which now reaches and audience on a global scale. 

A native of Cary (not many left in the area), Troy resides in Raleigh with his wife, Kristen, Tyler and his newest addition to the family Caden.

The support that is always forgotten on both the client and candidate side is what I focus on most. I'm building business relationships that result in friendships."
