Sixth Street

Get down on Dirty Sixth! A must exploration for live music lovers, party goers, Texas history buffs, and anyone looking to dive into the spirit of Austin. Stay at the haunted and historical Driskill Hotel and be delighted by its rustic cowboy charm, listen to endless live music at The Parish which is known to showcase the best up and coming local artists as well as well-known talent, and Iron Cactus is a must for delicious Mexican food and people-watching from the restaurant’s rooftop patio.

South Congress Avenue

I love you so much! Take a walk up or down South Congress Street and find the iconic Austin, “I love you so much” mural and the Mr. Rogers’, “Won’t you be my neighbor?” mural. This hipster paradise is filled with funky ice cream spots like Amy’s, rockin’ clubs like The Continental Club which has been named by Rolling Stone, Playboy and Ameripolitan, and cool, authentic restaurants like Botticelli’s.

Mount Bonnell

Interested in seeing Austin from 775-feet above Lake Austin? Hike through the 5.1-acre historic park, Mount Bonnell. Mount Bonnell is best known for its endless views of the deep blue Colorado River, the radiant city of Austin and surrounding hills filled with the singing of nature. Tourists and locals have been visiting this spot since the mid-19th century.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Calling all nature geeks! The Wildflower Center will expand your knowledge on Texas’ native plants, take you through some of Austin’s oldest caves, teach you about the Center’s conservation, and if you’re lucky you might be there just in time for Bloom Time. Watch Texas’ state flower, bluebonnets, bloom beautifully in early April. There’s something to interest and entertain kids and adults of all ages!

Lake Travis

Looking for a quieter retreat, away from Dirty Sixth? Drive about 20-minutes southwest of Austin and find yourself at Lake Travis. Stay at a hotel, Airbnb or camp and breathe in the fresh air and take in the lake views. Rent yachts, boats, party cruisers, you name it! After you have spent time splashing in the water, take a zipline adventure, listen to live music and indulge in one of the many restaurants.
