  1. Indianapolis Motor Speedway

This Sunday, May 26, marks the 103rd running of the event, billed as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, The Indianapolis 500.  It is considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, which comprises three of the most prestigious motorsports events in the world, also including the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  IMS is the largest spectator sporting facility in the world with more than 250,000 permanent seats.  And, bonus fun fact, if all of the Indy hot dogs and bratwurst sold on race day were laid end-to-end, they would circle the oval more than three times. – Matt Raymond, Managing Partner, Vaco Indianapolis

  1. Indianapolis Zoo

Feed a giraffe or a flamingo, race a cheetah, and touch a shark – the unique animal encounters available for everyone make the Indianapolis Zoo a must on your Indianapolis list.  As well as unique encounters with the animals, the Indianapolis Zoo offers a wide range of other activities and exhibits. Enjoy a ride on the Endangered Species Carousel, or on the Kombo Family Coaster then enjoy views of the zoo from a new perspective and see downtown from a seat on the Skyline Chairlift. After that, swing by and see the largest orangutan exhibit in the world, and then finish your day by walking through and experiencing the lush greenery and native wildlife of the enchanting White River Gardens. – Bailey Schnell, Marketing Coordinator, Vaco Indianapolis

  1. The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Located just minutes outside of downtown Indianapolis, the Children’s Museum offers five floors of interactive fun for people of all ages. Visit with real archaeologists to examine treasures uncovered from various parts of the world in the National Geographic Treasures of the Earth exhibit. Step back in time to the Jurassic period and hang out with skeletal dinosaur remains in the Dinosphere exhibit. After that, take a break from the interaction to see the breathtaking 43-foot tower of blown glass Fireworks of Glass.  Patrons are encouraged to end their day by driving, running, putting, and playing at the indoor and outdoor exhibits of the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. –Lisa Harris, Recruiter & Eric Mason, Recruiter, Vaco Indianapolis

  1. The Canal & White River State Park District

Whether you’re looking to take a leisurely stroll, spending a day at the ballpark, discovering the vast history of the state of Indiana, or enjoying an outdoor concert, the Canal and White River State Park Cultural District is the place to visit.  White River State park is home to the city’s most inspiring museums, attractions, and celebrations. Visitors can take a trip to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the NCAA Hall of Champions, an IMAX Theater, The Indiana State Museum, catch a ball game at Victory Field, home to the Indianapolis Indians, and then end the night with an outdoor concert at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park.  This past year, the Indianapolis Colts unveiled the Colts’ Canal Playspace.  This Playspace was built to promote healthy, safe interaction for young children, and is the perfect addition to the Central Canal and White River State Park. – Sara Price, Associate Director, & Nicole Osbun, Client Associate, Vaco Indianapolis
