After graduating with her MBA in 2017, Cozette started her career in recruiting. She learned the business quickly by recruiting administrative and customer service professionals – but she wanted a new challenge. She decided to start learning the technology recruitment business and moved into an account management and business development position. Cozette started with Vaco in 2019. She is one of the foundational members of the Northeast technology division. Today, Cozette is a full-cycle client solutions specialist, recruiting and managing accounts. In her free time, Cozette loves to spend time with her family and to be outdoors.
What is the most rewarding part about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is when a client and candidate are both happy with an outcome. When COVID started, I met candidates who had been out of work for up to 7 or 8 months. Being able to find them a position meant a lot to me!
What’s the secret to a great interview?
Enthusiasm! Showing interest in a client and expressing it is so important.
What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t take it personally.
What is something you can do better than anyone else you know?
I wouldn’t say “better” but something I pride myself in is how much I love my job and how dedicated I am to making things happen. I work hard and long hours to make sure both my candidates and clients are happy!
We know Vaco is your dream job, but if you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I would be in the FBI as a profiler!
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn?
Now that I am in technology, I would love to learn how to code. I want to be able to know exactly what our developers do every day.
What’s one cause or organization you are passionate about?
I am very passionate about St. Jude. My sister-in-law had a rare cancer as a child and she was able to get the help she needed to survive without worrying about the cost.
