Area of Expertise
I’ve been in staffing for about 3 years now. I started out in IT recruiting as my first job in Atlanta then moved back to Richmond and continued working in IT recruiting. After that, I spent some time working in staffing for different industries, where I was recruiting for construction staffing and light industrial staffing. After spending some time in different industries, I felt that IT is where I wanted to be. Eventually, my search brought me here to Vaco where I am in the role of Associate Technical Recruiter! In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends as much as I can, travel to see friends and watch Alabama football.
What’s the secret to a great interview?
I think the secret to a great interview is making the candidate feel comfortable. Going into an interview is already nerve racking enough for a candidate, so being relaxed and personable is super important. I think it’s important to not stick to a script and finding natural ways to incorporate the questions you have into a conversation, while also finding ways to get to know the candidate more than just their work experience. I’ve found that building that relationship, even if it makes the interview a little bit longer, leads to more success in the long term for both the recruiter and the candidate for current and future opportunities!
