What is the most rewarding part about working for a recruiting agency?

For me, one of the most rewarding parts is sending a job opportunity to a candidate and hearing back that they are excited about it. I’m honestly just as excited in finding that match for them, and I love getting to submit them to the job for consideration. That can be the first step in finding their next great opportunity, and I enjoy getting to be a part of that process.

Tell us more about your professional background. What led you to pursue a career at a recruitment company?

My background is in recruitment in higher education. I received a master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina, and I spent the last three years working in undergraduate admissions at Vanderbilt University. I’m passionate about helping people secure life-changing opportunities. For me, that used to mean helping students get to college. Now, my focus has shifted to helping individuals land jobs that advance their professional development and income.

What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop asking questions.

We know Vaco is your dream job, but if you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I’m very type A and organized; while working at Vaco plays to those strengths, I also think I would thrive as a wedding planner.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn?

I’d love to learn how to surf!
