What is the most rewarding part about working for a recruiting agency?
For me, the most rewarding part is the ability to change someone’s life by helping them find an opportunity that best suits their talents/interests. The service aspect of recruiting is why I got into the industry.
What characteristics and disciplines do you need to be successful in your role at a staffing firm?
I think someone who listens well, is empathetic with their approach in dealing with job seekers, and can remain level headed will do well in the industry.
What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career at a staffing agency?
Don’t let the highs get too high and the lows get too low. If you can find the middle ground, you’ll be in a good spot.
What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?
Try not to dwell on the times you’ve messed up but rather look at them as growth opportunities.
What do you think is unique about the culture at Vaco compared to other staffing agencies?
The people here are what immediately jumped out to me. Everyone is helpful and super fun to be around.
We know Vaco is your dream job, but if you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I love to sing some karaoke, so probably a professional singer.
