Mary uses her personality and sales experience to call on developers across the nation to help them find a job and a home here in Nashville. Outside of the office, she enjoys staying active in her Orange Theory and Crossfit communities. If she’s not taking a class, there’s a good chance you can find her going for a run or taking a nap with her 2 pups, Roscoe and Melvin.
What is the most rewarding part about working for a recruiting agency?
Getting to help people every day! Looking for a job can be really stressful; being able to help people navigate that process and find a new home is really awesome and rewarding.
What is your role at Vaco, and what do you do?
I work on our Technology team and recruit developers in the Nashville market.
What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career at a staffing agency?
Do it! Then, listen to the people who are successful. Ask them what they do and how they got there – do those things—and trust the process.
What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?
Stay humble and never stop learning. No matter how much you think you know, there is always room for growth—personal or professional.
What is something you can do better than anyone else you know?
Connect with people. I’m basically an empath—it’s a blessing and a curse.
What is one thing you enjoyed learning since joining Vaco?
Technology! I think people outside of staffing assume that tech=computers and millennials understand computers, so VOILA! But, it’s so much more than that! I learn something new every day I come to work.
