RALEIGH, NC – October 16, 2019 – Vaco, a global talent & solutions firm, today announced that J.R. Shearin will join the Vaco team serving the greater Raleigh market. Shearin previously served as the Managing Partner for Deloitte in Raleigh for the past 20 years and has more than 25 years of extensive finance, public accounting and international experience. He has a proven track record of leading multinational and multifunctional teams and serving across a wide variety of industries including life sciences, technology, manufacturing, real estate and media companies as well as public sector. A recognized leader in the community, Shearin has served, through board involvement, in various nonprofits, as both board chair and finance and audit committee chair as well as numerous other leadership roles.

Shearin began his career at Price Waterhouse in 1981, and after leaving to work for a client from 1987-1989, he joined Deloitte in December of 1989 as a tax manager. His tax career culminated with the role of Tax Partner in Charge in Raleigh before taking on the Managing Partner role in 2000. He holds a BA in Accounting from North Carolina State University. He has a passion for the Raleigh community, enjoy sports of all kinds and cherishes time with the family on Lake Gaston.
