Vaco named to San Diego Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list

SAN DIEGO – Sept. 1, 2020 – Vaco, a talent and solutions firm that provides consulting, contract and direct hire solutions to more than 40 markets around the globe, has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal.

The Best Places to Work in San Diego survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the companies whose benefits, policies and practices are among the best in the region. The list is made up of 100 San Diego companies in small, medium, large and mega employer categories. San Diego is a key growth market for Vaco, which has experienced rapid expansion, serving more than 325 clients and placing more than 1,625 candidates since 2005.

This award is extremely meaningful to Vaco because of its core promise: no matter where someone is in their life, when they come to Vaco, they should come with the opportunity to retire there. We seek to hire individuals who believe in the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships, striving for continuous improvement, and delivering consistently exceptional services. Our goal is to foster an environment in which all employees [Vaconians] can reach their highest potential.

“I’m proud to work for an organization that truly values its people, and this award illuminates that,” said Chelsea Sanger, managing partner of Vaco’s San Diego office. “At Vaco, we encourage our employees to bring their unique personality, passions and style to their work. We strive to create an environment that empowers individuals to bring their best selves to work, and allows them to achieve their professional goals, continuously learn and grow, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.”

Companies from across the county entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in San Diego. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, and was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings.

To be considered for participation, companies had to be a publicly or privately held business, be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity, have a facility in San Diego County, have at least 15 employees in San Diego County, and be in business a minimum of one year.

The annual Best Places to Work event honoring the companies on the list will be held virtually Aug. 27, 2020.
