Vaco Orlando recently provided two scholarships through the Women’s Executive Council (WEC). The WEC’s mission is to provide scholarships to those in need of guidance and do so through partnerships with local businesses and organizations whose passion, expertise and resources contribute to changing lives and helping women succeed. This year marks the third consecutive year that Vaco Orlando has served as a scholarship sponsor.
In addition to providing scholarships to deserving female students, the WEC also recognizes local female business leaders in the greater Orlando community. In 2015, the WEC recognized Vaco Orlando’s Managing Partner, Denise Bennett-Walls, as Entrepreneur of the Year at their annual Women’s Achievement Awards.
“The Vaco Orlando team is proud to be a continuing partner in the WEC Sponsorship Program,” said Denise Bennett-Walls, Managing Partner of Vaco Orlando. “Through the contributions of Vaco and other local sponsors, more young women are afforded access to education, leadership skills and personal development.”
Since 1986, the WEC has been awarding scholarships to women attending Valencia Community College, University of Central Florida, Rollins College, Seminole State College, Florida Institute of Technology and Herzing University. The commitment of the WEC and Orlando-area sponsors has resulted in nearly $400,000 donated to more than 240 women scholars.
