Vaco Promotes Joe Laugherty and JT Turba to Managing Partners in Cincinnati to Drive Continued Growth

CINCINNATI – May 3, 2022 – Vaco, a global talent solutions firm, has promoted Joe Laugherty and JT Turba to managing partners in its Cincinnati office as the firm continues its rapid growth throughout the Midwest.

The Cincinnati office serves clients and candidates with a full spectrum of solutions that include consulting, executive search, permanent placement, managed services and strategic staffing. Key service areas include accounting and finance, technology, healthcare administration, engineering and supply chain.

Laugherty, who helped launch the firm’s Cincinnati office in 2014, has more than 15 years of leadership experience in the consulting and recruiting industry, and he has built a team that has become one of the fastest-growing markets in Vaco’s history. Turba, who has also been instrumental in the rapid growth of the Cincinnati office, has nearly 15 years of leadership experience. He joined Vaco in 2015 as senior director of client services and was named partner in 2019.

Both market leaders will oversee Vaco’s performance, service expansion and growth in Cincinnati, driving operational excellence and fueling success in the market. Laugherty will guide the firm’s finance, accounting and compliance divisions, as well as the growth of the firm’s new engineering, supply chain, health care administration and revenue cycle practices.

“We are excited about advancing the Vaco culture and continuing to fuel growth and success in the Cincinnati market,” Laugherty said. “We have been aggressive in the marketplace since our inception, launching new service lines, gaining massive amounts of market share, and investing more in our practice areas as we become a one-stop shop for clients needing consultative talent solutions. What’s more, with the globalization of talent, we are creating scalable service offerings that can be leveraged in other markets as Vaco grows globally.”

Turba will oversee the office’s thriving technology practice, which includes data analytics, cloud services and management consulting. Last year, the office launched a digital practice to round out its full suite of tech-focused talent solutions.

“Our vision has remained consistent since day one: to be the pre-eminent professional services firm in the Midwest,” Turba said. “Vaco provides the backing of a thriving global firm with the resourcing and autonomy to deliver exceptional, white-glove services that cater to our clients across this market. As the workforce has evolved to embrace more remote and hybrid opportunities, we have doubled down on our investment in the market, attracting top-tier talent and boosting success for a diverse portfolio of clients.”

Laugherty and Turba are assuming leadership of Vaco’s Cincinnati office as Chris Persiani and Steve Shoemake, former managing partners in the office, transition to new roles within the firm. Persiani has been named a senior vice president and executive partner for Vaco, a role in which he will provide strategic guidance for continued growth across Vaco’s offices in Ohio, Kentucky, Arizona and Pennsylvania. Shoemake will continue to serve clients in Cincinnati’s technology sector, while also continuing to lead Vaco’s Technology Practice globally to meet the growing demand for digital solutions across the firm’s footprint.

To leverage the firm’s technology and digital expansion, Liliane Mylott has been promoted to regional technology practice leader, a role in which she will work with the leadership team in Cincinnati and other Vaco offices to deliver a full range of consulting, staffing and recruiting services across the tech sector, including software development, QA, digital transformation, and program and project management. Additionally, Brian Henn will continue to expand Vaco’s solution delivery practices as vice president of delivery, focusing on six key practices and their growth through managed services.

Cincinnati is a key growth market for Vaco, which has experienced rapid expansion, serving nearly 300 clients and more than 1,200 candidates since the office opened in 2014 – and has achieved revenue growth of more than 30 percent every year. Vaco’s Cincinnati office, which has hired more than a dozen new staff since last fall, is part of a powerhouse that delivers talent solutions across diverse industries and to nearly 10,000 clients globally as it continues to grow.
