What is the most rewarding part about working for a recruiting agency?

For me, the most rewarding part is helping someone land their dream job. Getting to call my candidates who I have worked with for a while to tell them they got the offer they wanted is the “why” behind my work.

What is your role at Vaco, and what do you do?

I am a recruiter on the Staffing team. I primarily focus on recruiting admin, data entry, customer service, HR, and sales candidates.

If you were recruiting someone to join the Vaco team, what are three traits you would want to see in this recruit?

If I were recruiting someone for our Vaco team, I would want them to be confident, eager to learn, and super personable. I would say everyone in our office has these traits, and that is one thing that keeps our culture alive.

We know Vaco is your dream job, but if you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

Even though I’ve only been surfing a few times, I would love to be a surf instructor. It would be a dream to become a pro, live by the beach, and teach people to surf.

What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?

In this industry, there are so many highs and lows. Do not let your highs be too high and do not let your lows be too low. Try to stay levelheaded throughout it all and success will come.

What’s one cause or organization you are passionate about?

I am a huge supporter of Amigos for Christ, a nonprofit organization located in Nicaragua. I luckily was able to spend over a month there throughout my time in college. Amigos for Christ partners with local rural communities to help build clean water systems, bathrooms, kitchens, and schools. They help these communities in a variety of additional ways and are an amazing example of how to work together to better a community.
