As a former Big 4 accountant in the Nashville market, Jessica uses her industry relationships and network to find talent in the accounting and finance field and help people land their dream roles. Outside of the office, she’s a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend who loves traveling and enjoying a glass of wine. Since she is of Indian/German heritage, she also loves cooking Indian and German food and exercising to keep up with her love of it.

What is the most rewarding part of being in a business development role at a recruiting agency?
The ability to help others, be a business partner to my clients, and come up with solutions as they navigate hiring the best possible talent is what is so rewarding about being in business development in accounting.

Be genuine, responsible, and reliable.
Tell us more about your professional background. What led you to pursue a career at a recruitment company?
I started my career in Big 4 in audit after completing my Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree. While there, I helped recruit talent to the firm from several schools that made me realize my passion for recruiting; this is how I ended up pursuing a career in this space.

Enjoy what you do and always put your best foot forward.
What do you think is unique about the culture at Vaco compared to other staffing agencies?
I think the Vaco culture is unique in that we all like to work hard/play hard and we all thrive in a high-performing work environment.
What is one thing you enjoyed learning since joining Vaco?
I have enjoyed learning about how cities conduct economic development and recruit companies to their cities, just like a company would go about recruiting talent. It’s fascinating to be a part of that and see Nashville as a city grow.
