What is the most rewarding part about working for a recruiting agency?

It’s so rewarding when you hear the stories from our candidates who we helped find their dream job. Knowing that you’ve made an impact on someone’s life like that is the best part of this job.

What characteristics and disciplines do you need to be successful in your role at a staffing firm?

You need to be personable, relatable, and flexible. We interact with a lot of people in this job so being able to adapt is key.

What is your role at Vaco, and what do you do?

I work in the marketing department in Vaco’s Nashville office, where we wear many hats. Whether it’s planning campaigns, designing graphics, or all things digital marketing, no day is the same. I love constantly being able to learn and grow within my role.

What’s the most important piece of professional/career advice you’ve ever received?

Always surround yourself with people you can learn from. No matter how successful you get in life, there will always be room to learn and grow. Never stop learning.

What do you think is unique about the culture at Vaco compared to other staffing agencies?

The environment at Vaco is unlike any other company, regardless of industry. As soon as you walk into the office, you can just feel the energy. Our CEO Jerry has created a culture where people are genuinely happy to come to work every day.

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to learn?

I want to learn another language. Being able to communicate and connect on that level with non-English speakers would be truly special.
