Bill has a broad base of experience with more than 30 years of senior management predominantly in food related businesses including publicly owned, private equity backed, and privately owned companies. He was a trusted partner with CEOs and liaison with key stakeholders.
Bill’s career foundation was in public accounting, beginning with a Big 4 firm predecessor and then as an audit practice partner in a national firm. His public accounting experience included client businesses in the real estate development, construction contracting, restaurant, hospitality, public utilities, banking, and dairy industries.
Bill moved from public accounting to accept a CFO role with the Fuddruckers restaurant chain following their initial public offering. He directed secondary public offerings and negotiated numerous bank financings, real estate leases, and franchise agreements. Bill also led an initiative for finance and information systems functions to improve efficiency that accelerated the financial period closing process and reduced annual expenses.
Recently Bill served as CFO of Market Day, a privately owned food retail and distribution company specializing in school fundraising. He partnered with the founders and CEO to grow the business and sell to a private equity firm. While there he implemented process improvements and initiated the implementation of an e-commerce platform. Bill also managed a recapitalization of the company and due diligence for the subsequent sale to Gordon Food Service.
Beyond the traditional CFO role, Bill has also held responsibilities for franchising and licensing, restaurant construction, legal, human resources, information systems, customer services, regional sales, marketing, and concept development.
Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, from Florida Atlantic University. He is a CPA formerly licensed in Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, and Illinois. He is a member of Financial Executives International (FEI).
