Phil brings an unusual blend of financial and operational experience from the manufacturing industry, primarily focused on the food industry. Most recently, he served twenty years as the Chief Financial Officer for a large bakery manufacturer. His responsibilities included internal and external financial reporting, bank relations, including loan facility acquisition, plant and product profitability, as well as plant capacity analysis, pricing, including new products and ventures. He represented the bakery in the eventual company sale to an international food company.
He also spent several years in positions supporting the manufacturing division for a multi-billion-dollar food retail company. These financial and operational positions ranged from Accounting Manager, Manager of Controls, Reporting, and Analysis (Divisional Controller), Warehouse Management, and Procurement. He worked with 11 food plants that produced dairy, meat, bakery, beverage, prepared foods, and snack products. His responsibilities included identifying and leading teams to correct profitability issues for ongoing operations. In addition, he was responsible for identifying new plant and product ventures. This included the profitability analysis to leading the plant start up.
Phil earned his BS in Accounting and Finance from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He earned his Certified Public Accountant from the state of Texas.
