The Problem

Implementation of ABT Program

In June of 2003, one of the largest counties in the nation implemented an initiative called The Accountable Business Transformation Program (ABT Program). At 2,134 square miles, King County in Washington State is nearly double the size of average counties in the United States. With a population of over 1.9 million, the goal of the ABT program was to implement more efficient and effective services for King County residents in the areas of finance, human resources, payroll, benefits, budget, and time capture.

The Solution

Shared Best Practices to Ensure Improved Efficiency

Vaco successfully placed 15 consultants at King County between 2011 and 2013 to drive the Accountable Business Transformation Program to completion. After receiving the particular needs and corresponding deliverables for each project in the ABT Program, Vaco placed consultants who took responsibility for their roles and shared best practices to ensure improved efficiency of county services.
