A $12B healthcare company sought a trusted partner to provide a customized quality assurance (QA) solution in tune with the local market, combined with test automation and offshoring capabilities. The client experienced time and cost inefficiencies due to its 100% manual testing environment. New software development and upgrades with integrated external products could not be completed timely. As a result, the client lagged behind its competition in providing new features and functionalities to its customers.
Vaco engaged a team of 12 automation engineers and business analysts with deep automation experience to evaluate existing test cases, shorten the cases and develop a repeatable and automated test suite. We removed duplication and increased the effectiveness and efficiency of all testing to enable the client to test more extraneous aspects of an application. Upon automating an area, we turned the automation back to the client. Furthermore, we remained agile via adapting our onshore and offshore teams and focus as the client’s needs changed.
Vaco automated 84% of the client’s test cases (which exceeded the client’s expectations) at a cost to the client that was $100,000 under its budget. The client can now run all automation on a weekly basis and release updates more often at a lower cost. Additionally, the client did not add to its technical debt since the sprint teams maintain the automation. The client can now conduct software upgrades in a timely manner, taking advantage of features and functionality that can be provided to customers ahead of competition.
