With over 20 years of top-level experience in talent solutions, Principal & Founder Ryan A. Murphy understands the importance of finding the right professionals for the job. Known in the industry for his intuitive ability to make quality professional matches, Ryan’s dependability and follow through define his commitment to solving his clients’ most challenging staffing problems.
Ryan began his career in staffing with Robert Half International (RHI). During his award-winning tenure, he oversaw a territory generating more than $80 million in revenue, was responsible for business development, request for proposals and day to day supervision and training of 300+ sales professionals. After rising to the position of Regional Vice President, he left to form his own Massachusetts-based recruiting firm, Bay State Select. After several more years of specializing in the placement of accounting and finance, information technology and administrative professionals, Bay State Select was purchased by Spherion (SFN). Spherion was later acquired by Randstad (RAND.AMS), where Ryan served as Vice President of Professional Services, overseeing executive searches, direct hires and contract placements for the Northeast region.
In 2013, He founded Bay State Search and after being in the business for four years it was selected by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing, privately-held companies in the U.S. and the fastest growing in the industry. The growth of Bay State Search continued rapidly and was acquired by Vaco in 2021. Ryan now serves as managing partner of Vaco’s Boston office.
Ryan loves working and believes the most rewarding aspect is seeing the people he has partnered with become successful, whether they are team members, candidates, or clients.
In Ryan’s free time, he helps his wife raise their children, is the president of Andover Little League, and helps with their town hockey program; he is a head coach in both sports.
