Enhancing library management systems through strategic QA testing

The problem

A leading global nonprofit library organization sought additional support to enhance the functionality of four newly developed features for its internal web-based library management system. The organization required extensive coding knowledge to perform rigorous manual and automation testing. All issues and bugs had to be identified during the migration of applications to updated web platforms. Due to its global reach, the company needed to support special characters and hotkeys across multiple languages and platforms, requiring multi-lingual expertise and delivery.

The solution

Vaco conducted an extensive search to identify agile professionals with coding experience in diverse environments. By sourcing and placing three skilled professionals and a project manager, the organization realized immediate results. Quick responses and consistent check-ins fostered effective communication between our professionals and the organization, ensuring alignment on critical priorities and project status. This collaborative, responsive environment allowed the team to adapt efficiently to meet ongoing organizational needs.

Our impact

The organization’s complex testing environment was managed effectively by our Vaco team; testing issues were quickly identified and resolved prior to user exposure. A robust and functional library management system resulted, which enhanced user experience, streamlined workflows for critical business processes and reduced the risk of errors and financial discrepancies within the point-of-sale system. Recognizing the prompt and high-quality results delivered, the organization extended the project twice and increased the QA testing team from three to seven members to further capitalize on the success of the engagement.
