Manufacturing company modernizes BI and data strategy to support ERP transformation

BI strategy presentation

The challenge

A leading manufacturing company was struggling to support decision-making during its ERP transition from Adage to Microsoft Business Central and needed to modernize its data and reporting capabilities. Fragmented reporting, limited analytics, and a lack of centralized visibility across teams made it difficult to track operations and act on data effectively.

To support and scale its new ERP environment, the organization required both leadership and technical expertise to build a connected BI and data foundation that could deliver reliable insights, improve collaboration, and support long-term growth.

Our solution

Vaco partnered closely with the company on a multi-phase BI and ERP modernization program, delivering key leadership and technical talent to support data warehouse design, BI strategy, and automation. The engagement was designed to directly support the organization’s ERP transition by creating a connected, scalable data foundation.

To execute against that vision, the team introduced BI and data leadership to define strategy, establish a centralized data roadmap, and align analytics initiatives with business goals. Legacy Adage data and Microsoft Business Central data were unified into a single, reliable data warehouse to enable real-time reporting. Additionally, a scalable self-service BI environment was built to automate recurring reports and empower teams to access insights independently.

Throughout the engagement, Vaco worked closely with finance, operations, and IT to improve data accuracy, streamline workflows, and drive adoption of Power BI and automation tools. This helped teams use and trust the new data environment to support day-to-day decision-making.

Our impact

As a result of Vaco’s collaborative, tailored approach, the manufacturer modernized its data and analytics landscape—shifting from a manual, reactive reporting environment to one that is automated, unified, and business-driven. Key results from the engagement include:

  • Establishing a fully integrated data warehouse and BI reporting framework
  • Reducing report generation time by more than 50%
  • Enabling real-time operational visibility through self-service dashboards
  • Increasing analytics adoption across departments following the ERP transition
