This course is designed to help participants understand the significant differences between the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). It does not discuss every possible difference between both standards.

This program is ideal for:

  • Those with companies who have an international presence or considering expanding to an international jurisdiction.
  • Those who need a refresher on the more common differences between US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to identify the more commonly identified differences between IFRS and US GAAP, including, but not limited to:

  • Leasing Standards
  • Shared-based Awards
  • Impairment Testing
  • Business Combinations
  • Adoption of IFRS for the first time
